History Society
The History Society organised a two-day educational tour to the historic city of Jaipur in January, 2006. Fifty students came forward to relive the past history by visiting Amber , Nahar and Jaigarh Forts. Accompanied by six teachers including Ms. Mukul and Mr. Anand of History department who took the initiative for the trip, the students visited all the historical sites like Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal and the museums. At City Palace, they saw the shooting of remake of the film Umrao Jaan. On the whole, a very informative, entertaining and interesting tour. Debating Society WINNER Azghar Karim Siddiquii of B.A.(Pass) Final Year, SLC (E) won the third prize in the Fifth Pierre Trudeau Memorial debate organized at the South campus by Centre for Canadian Studies, University of Delhi recently. The topic for the inter-college debate was: “In the opinion of the house , Technological Progress has ruined Society in Canada and India.” Teams from eleven colleges including Sri Venkateswara, Lady Sri Ram College, SRCC and Gargi participated. |
